I have three kids, two dogs and three cats.  I used to buy a new vacuum every year. I bought an Evolution 6100 in 2006 and this cleaner is great. It will pick up anything, dog food pieces, Legos.. anything. The long 10Ft. hose that came with it is great to use on the stairs and drapes. I love it so much that I bought one for my daughter.
